pierreism:

Official Trailer to Drafthouse Films’ grand theatrical re-release of Miami Connection, an obscure martial arts/synth rock/motorcycle ninja gang pulpfest from 1987 that looks like an absolutely nuts distillation of everything that was cool/ridiculous about the ’80s. In other words, it’s a cult hit in the making.

Directed by 9th degree black belt Grandmaster/motivational speaker Y.K. Kim, the rarity was almost lost to the vaults of time until Alamo Drafthouse programmer Zack Carlson blindly bought a 35mm print off eBay for $50, and began screening it to rave reactions.

The re-mastered print will finally get its time to shine at this year’s Fantastic Fest, and later on as a general DVD release, but for now check out this unmissable trailer cut by Hobo With A Shotgun’s Jason Eisner, who has just the right amount of rose-tinted, ’80s reverence and comic punch to do the material justice.

Also as a teaser, you can download two retro-rific theme songs for free at DrafhouseFilms.com, which in the film are performed by a band called Dragon Sound. I mean, what is this film, the best??

We must stop the senseless killing.
