The Darkside of Jarre.
I’ve been a big fan of Jean Michel Jarre, ever since I was at school. The guy is incredibly talented, and has written some brilliant work.
However, I’ve just been listening through a compilation album of his, and OMG, there is some utter rubbish on there. It sounds like really really bad 1980’s synthesiser music.
I suppose it goes to show that no matter how talented you are, you cannot produce works of art each and everytime.
I guess another example of that would be Queen. Complete rock gods, and geniuses at what they did. Hot Space though? What the hell was that about? I like to lovingly refer to it as Hot Wank.
Hey. Hot Space was a good album. In context and on its own merits it has some really good tracks on it. What? They were supposed to release another ‘The Game’?
